My family has owned this restaurant for 22 plus year. My dad and uncle started it and know my sister and I run it. Our dad passed away last April and we want to continue his legacy but don't know how much longer we can with the way the city is becoming.

"Pass the small business jobs survival act. Cafe Steinhof and so many other small neighborhood businesses are facing an uphill struggle against the influx of ever more big chain stores and restaurants."

Russo's Mozzerella & Pasta supports #savenyc.
Jack Camgime, the third-generation owner of Russo's who has been in business in the East Village since 1908 told us, "Although we have been in this location for over 50 years, we don't own this building, so you never know what can happen. If the landlord raised our rent to something I can't afford, then I sadly would have to close up for good. 11th Street is my home and I just couldn't move my business elsewhere. I definitely support #savenyc."

"I love shopping at Dinosaur Hill with my daughter. This is a wonderful place to find a special gift that is not mass produced. The owner (Pamela Pier-holding the sign) was once a teacher and takes great care choosing what she sells. It has been here since 1983. Please come and say hi and take a look at the many wonders inside."

Charlene, aka "Ma, and Winnie, the owner of Winnie's Bar in Chinatown set to close on March 30th after 28 years!

It used to be that 14th Street was the Champs Elysees of wigs. I'm glad there are still a few stores. They're so sweet in this place, and you can go in with a hundred wig-related questions and they'll know all the answers!

Rocco's pizza on 7th Avenue. It's so good and the Rocco's guys are always so sweet. They were kind enough to display my sign!

I am a Theatrical Teamster with Local 817. Our union provides the transportation and logistics for all productions in the greater NYC area and we are proud of the work we do.
Television and movie producers flock to New York City for our incredible skyline, small businesses and amazing architecture. When you think of the famous scenes from Taxi Driver, Midnight Cowboy, Dogday Afternoon, Do the Right Thing, The Godfather, Hannah and Her Sisters, these films (and so many others) are about our diverse city. They give you a sense of the gritty fabric NY provides that cannot be recreated by sets in a studio.
Allowing New York City to turn into an urban mall hurts everyone, not only the residents, but the people that still go to the movies and dream about our unique city with it's many small businesses and restaurants that make it special.
Pass the Small Business Jobs Survival Act, save our city.
