Ms. Sarno, who has lived all her life in Little Italy, is being evicted from her apartment after losing a fight to keep her $820-a-month rent from skyrocketing; her landlord is the Italian American Museum. Restaurant Il Palazzo’s 30-year run on Mulberry Street is coming to an end, also thanks to their landlords, the Italian American Museum (an institution who is in the business of conservation). Let’s show up outside the museum and make our voices of disgust heard, and hopefully convince the museum to find it in their hearts to reconsider.
